(Singapore, Jan 13, 2025) Singtel has announced the launch of Perplexity Pro, an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) search engine designed to enhance the online search experience for its customers. This new service, Perplexity Pro, aims to streamline information discovery by providing concise, conversational responses with in-line citations, addressing the common challenge of information overload in traditional search engines.
The introduction of Perplexity Pro to Singtel’s offerings comes at a time when demand for AI tools is surging. Singtel’s broadband, TV, and mobile customers are eligible for a free one-year subscription of Perplexity Pro—valued at approximately S$270—accessible via a special code distributed through the My Singtel App.
According to market forecasts, the generative AI sector is expected to grow from S$54.7 billion in 2022 to a staggering S$1.8 trillion by 2032. Reflecting this trend, Singtel has reported a more than 20% increase in broadband and mobile traffic to AI assistant domains over the past six months.

Perplexity Pro distinguishes itself from other AI search tools by allowing users to choose from a variety of AI models developed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Grok, and proprietary models based on Meta’s Llama 3.1. This customization enhances user experience by tailoring searches to specific needs, making it an ideal tool for professionals, students, and researchers. Additional features of Perplexity Pro include advanced file analysis and AI-driven image generation capabilities, offering a comprehensive suite of services that leverage Singtel’s robust nationwide 5G coverage for fast and reliable access.
