(Singapore, 15.05.2025) In a significant upgrade to its network management tools, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) made a major enhancement to its OmniVista® Network Advisor by integrating support for third-party devices, marking a pivotal expansion of its capabilities beyond Alcatel-Lucent’s proprietary equipment, according to a released on 14 Feb.

ALE’s latest update to OmniVista Network Advisor empowers IT professionals to oversee a broader spectrum of network devices, including those from other manufacturers. This advancement offers unprecedented flexibility and more comprehensive options for monitoring network health and performance across diverse and complex multi-vendor environments.

The newly enhanced OmniVista Network Advisor now facilitates the monitoring and management of third-party devices such as firewalls and other network equipment, which was previously limited to Alcatel-Lucent’s own OmniSwitch® and OmniAccess® Stellar Access Points. By incorporating artificial intelligence, the tool provides proactive guidance and automated remediation, improving network operations and security across various platforms.

One of the significant updates in this iteration is the seamless integration with Microsoft Teams, a shift from the exclusive use of ALE’s Rainbow™ CPaaS for alerts and actions. This integration allows IT teams to receive real-time notifications, collaborate instantly, and execute remedial actions directly within the Teams environment, enhancing the operational responsiveness and efficacy.

Kenny Ng, APAC Market Development, Network Business Division at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, highlighted the new capabilities, stating, “With the ability to collect and analyze syslogs from compatible third-party devices, OmniVista Network Advisor enables users to configure custom alerts and automate responses based on these insights, ensuring an optimal and secure network state.”
