Japan welcomes SIA first Boeing 787-10

Singapore, 8 Feb 2018 – Launch customer Singapore Airlines (SIA) will deploy its first Boeing 787-10 aircraft using engine GEnx-1B / Trent 1000, to Osaka from May this year.

The airline, which has 49 Boeing 787-10s on firm order, will take delivery of its first B787-10 from Boeing’s South Carolina production facility in March.

Ahead of the introduction of regular services to Osaka, the 787-10s will be operated on selected Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur flights for crew training.

The 337-seater aircraft has a two-class configuration, with 36 seats in Business Class and 301 seats in Economy Class.

The introduction of our new regional cabin products on the 787-10s stretching 68 metres in length, it is the longest variant of Boeing’s Dreamliner range of aircraft, which are made using lightweight composite materials.

In addition to the 49 firm orders for 787-10s, SIA also has a firm order with Boeing for 20 777-9s, which are due to come onstream from FY2021/22.
