(Tokyo, Apr 5, 2020) Japan’s leading biotech company Genesis Healthcare announced that it has launched a new real-time test kit of COVID-19.
It says the new test kit will be available for healthcare providers and corporate organizations to accelerate early detection in Japan.
Genesis says the new test kit, called real-time PCR-based detection test for COVID-19, was developed under the advisement of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the testing protocol of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases of Japan.
It has become available in Japan and will be made available to international markets mid-April.
So far, Japan has more than 2600 confirmed cases — the sixth highest in Asia after Iran, China, South Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
