Singapore, 7 Feb 2018 – Three aerospace companies, Hawker Pacific, GE Aviation and PPG, signed a series of memorandum of understanding with national industrial-estate developer JTC at the Singapore Airshow.
GE Aviation and PPG are moving into Seletar Aerospace Park, a JTC industrial park, while Hawker Pacific is expanding its facilities there. Together, they will be part of JTC’s vision of a diverse aerospace hub that will consist of original equipment manufacturers, aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul companies, general aviation and training companies.
Hawker Pacific will make approximately S$20 million investment in the aerospace park with a new 100,000 sq ft facility. This will complement its existing facility of the same size at Seletar, essentially doubling its presence.
GE Aviation has confirmed that it will expand its operations in Singapore and build a new S$42 million aircraft engine component facility. The facility will be 50,000 sq ft in size, with an initial workforce of 20 employees. The company will join the two other top global engine manufacturers – Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney – at Seletar.
It is relocating to Seletar Aerospace Park from Tuas, with a new 4,000 sq m facility. This is double the size of its existing facility in Tuas.
