(Singapore, 19.02.2025)Today, Royal Caribbean International has officially announced Legend of the Seas, the third ship in its groundbreaking Icon Class series, set to debut in July 2026. Continuing the cruise line’s legacy of innovation, the new vessel promises to elevate the family vacation experience with a unique blend of adventure, luxury, and entertainment.

Following its initial summer voyages across Europe, Legend of the Seas will make its grand Caribbean debut in November 2026. Sailing year-round from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the ship will offer six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, including stops at Royal Caribbean’s award-winning private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. Before arriving in the Caribbean, the ship will first embark on seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona in August 2026, allowing travelers to explore iconic European destinations in France, Italy, and Spain.
Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, highlighted the significance of this launch, stating that Legend of the Seas represents the next bold step in the evolution of the Icon Class. He emphasized that the ship will continue the legacy of innovation set by Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, offering families and adventurers an unparalleled vacation experience across Europe, the Caribbean, and beyond.
The ship, currently under construction in Turku, Finland, will feature a range of experiences that redefine cruise travel. Passengers can expect adrenaline-pumping attractions such as Crown’s Edge, an exhilarating skywalk and thrill ride suspended over the ocean. The onboard waterpark, Category 6, will be the largest at sea, providing unmatched excitement for travelers of all ages. With seven distinct pools catering to different moods, including the expansive Royal Bay and the adults-only Hideaway with its suspended infinity pool, Legend of the Seas is designed for both relaxation and adventure.
The ship will also introduce Surfside, a dedicated neighborhood designed for young families, complete with engaging activities and accommodations such as the Ultimate Family Townhouse, a three-story living space designed for multi-generational travel. Across eight unique neighborhoods, passengers will have access to more than 40 dining and drinking venues, ensuring a diverse and immersive culinary experience.
Beyond its entertainment and luxury offerings, Legend of the Seas is part of Royal Caribbean’s commitment to sustainability. As the fourth ship in the fleet powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), it will incorporate advanced environmental initiatives, including waste heat recovery systems and shore power connectivity. These measures align with Royal Caribbean Group’s long-term goal of introducing a net-zero cruise ship by 2035.
Bookings for Legend of the Seas will soon be available, with early access for Crown & Anchor Society loyalty members beginning on February 20, 2025 (Eastern Standard Time). As Royal Caribbean continues to push the boundaries of cruise innovation, this latest addition to the fleet is set to redefine luxury and adventure travel, offering a next-level vacation experience for families, thrill-seekers, and explorers alike.
